Stabling at Nottinghill Stable Yard (White River, Mpumalanga) is about the terms and conditions of Horse Livery/Stabling at Nottinghill Horse Centre, Stabling Costs, Schooling or Training of horses and leasing/half leasing of horses.

*** No school horse or pony will compete at shows if it is not full leased by the rider for at least the month in which the show is held

Leasing & Half Leasing of Horses

 

Leasing Agreement:

 

It is hereby agreed that the person leasing a horse (hereafter called the Lessee), will lease the stipulated horse from the owner of the horse (hereafter called the Owner) ; as per compliance to the following conditions:

 

  • The lessee is solely responsible for costs of stabling, shoeing and veterinary costs of the horse. The horse will be fed as prescribed by the Owner.

  • The horse will be ridden with the correct tack, saddle, protective leg and hoof gear as prescribed by the Owner.

  • The lease fee must be paid per month in advance.

  • If the Lessee wishes to end the agreement, he/she must do so in writing with a month’s notice in advance to the Owner.

  • The rider is obligated to have lessons on the horse only with an instructor approved by the Owner. 

  • If the Lessee intends to compete on the horse, the Owner must be informed well in advance of this intention. The Lessee must receive written approval from the Owner, at least three weeks prior to submitting the Competition Entry Application.

  • Should the horse die of unnatural causes due to any negligence whatsoever of Lessee, or rider, the Lessee agrees to pay the Owner in full the value of the horse on the commencement date of the lease agreement.

  • Should the horse die of natural causes due to illness or injury, the Lessee will have no financial obligation to the Owner.

  • Should the Owner require the horse to receive lessons once a month with a stipulated instructor, in order to maintain the horse’s schooling up to standard, then the Owner & the Lessee will need to make a private  agreement of the costs & scheduling thereof ; whereby both Owner & Lessee, and the horse, will be able to mutually derive benefit by this agreement.

  • Other than the rider/s authorised by the Lessee, strictly no other rider will be permitted to ride, exercise or use the horse for any purpose whatsoever.

     

    IMPORTANT NOTES

     

    • The above stipulations are deemed to constitute valid and binding agreements the between Owner & the Lessee.

    • All variances that might be raised between Owner & Lessee must be agreed upon and confirmed in writing between both parties.  

    • Failure of the Lessee to abide with any stipulations and conditions, may  lead to the automatic termination of all agreements.

     

     

    Half Leasing Agreement:

     

    It is hereby agreed that the Lessee will lease the stipulated horse from the Owner as per compliance to the following conditions:

     

  • The Lessee will be responsible for 50% of the costs of stabling, shoeing and veterinary costs. The horse will be fed as prescribed by the Owner.

  • The horse will be ridden with the correct tack, saddle, protective leg and hoof gear as prescribed by the Owner.

  • The Half-Lease fee of R1350-00 must be paid a month in advance. The shoeing fee is R150.00 per month. If the vet is needed, half of the vet’s account is payable by the Lessee.

  • If the Lessee wishes to terminate the agreement, he/she must do so with a month’s notice  in advance to the Owner.

  • The rider is obligated to have lessons on the horse only with an instructor approved by the owner.

  • If the Lessee intends to compete on the horse, the Owner must be informed well in advance of this intention. The Lessee must receive written approval from the Owner, at least three weeks prior to submitting the Competition Entry Application.

  • Should the horse die of natural causes due to illness or injury, the Lessee will have no financial obligation to the owner.

  • The horse/pony will be used in the school under the strict supervision of the instructor. The Lessee will be given certain times when the animal can be ridden when not being used in the school. The Lessee is entitled to 3 extra rides on the horse/pony apart from the one compulsory lesson with a designated instructor.

  • The Lessee, and authorised rider/s, hereby wholly agree and confirm never to ill-treat, abuse, hurt or injure the horse ; and equally agree and confirm to unfailingly and diligently treat the horse with utmost care, dignity, pride and responsibility.

  • Other than the rider/s authorised by the Lessee, strictly no other rider will be permitted to ride, exercise or use the horse for any purpose whatsoever.

Schooling/Training of Horses

Schooling / Training of Horses at Nottinghill Equestrian Centre in White River, Mpumalanga

The horse/pony will be professionally schooled/trained/ridden a minimum of four times per week by the instructor/trainer/assistant instructor, or as often as the instructor recommends in order to maintain the horse fit and well-trained for the rider. Only the qualified trainer, or designated trained assistant, under direct supervision, will be responsible for the schooling of the horse. Specialized, recognized, proven training methods are strictly used and no ill treatment or abuse of horses will be tolerated. In circumstances whereby a horse is stabled at Nottinghill  on the basis of our Monthly Training Option, then the horse may be exercised more than 4 times a week, depending upon  time available. However,  any extra  training sessions will be at no extra cost from Owner. Should a horse need to be taken to a show as part of training, the account(s) pertaining to entry fees/groom’s payment/transport etc. will be payable by the Owner of the horse.
